Rialto Lane doesn't announce itself. It runs off the Corso without ceremony, and most people pass it without a second glance. Little Legends has been at the end of it since 2017 – a laneway café built around a single, unglamorous ambition: to make better coffee than it did yesterday.
The beans are roasted by Lot61, the milk work is precise, and the ceramic cups are the kind you notice without knowing why. The food menu is short and considered – focaccia, bircher with Coyo yoghurt and roasted almonds, French pastries – made to complement the coffee rather than compete with it.
There is outdoor seating and a wall mural, and on a clear morning the lane catches the light in a way that justifies the detour entirely.
