There are beaches, and then there is Manly Beach.
Two minutes on foot from Elysium Manly, this three-kilometre arc of open Pacific coastline has shaped the character of the Northern Beaches for generations. A promenade of Norfolk Island Pines lines the foreshore, casting long shadows over the esplanade in the afternoon light. Along it, you will find surf shops stocking boards, fins, masks and rental gear, as well as a wide range of cafés and restaurants for every mood and hour. Or bring nothing at all — there are picnic tables along the tree-lined walk, and the setting provides everything else.
From the southern end of Manly Beach, a scenic foreshore path leads to Shelly Beach – one of the more beautiful short walks the area offers, and a natural extension of a morning that begins with breakfast at the hotel and ends with your feet in the sand.
