We hold Sustainable Tourism Certification with Ecotourism Australia, recognised by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council, a reflection of practices that are measurable, meaningful, and woven into the guest experience rather than added to the edges of it. For us, sustainability is not about sacrifice. It is about doing things with greater care – because when you are this close to the ocean, you think more carefully about what you leave behind.

We are continually evolving our approach to energy and water conservation, waste reduction, and the elimination of single-use plastics. Smart guestroom technology manages air-conditioning and lighting through occupancy sensors, reducing consumption without compromise to guest comfort. Luxury refillable dispensers replace single-use amenities in every room. Our minibar is curated with recyclable packaging in mind. A comprehensive recycling program extends across the property – batteries, scrap metal, printer cartridges, light bulbs – because thoughtful waste management reaches further than the obvious places.

We track our energy consumption and carbon footprint on an ongoing basis – not as a formality, but as a genuine measure of progress. And across our bars and restaurants, a farm-to-beach philosophy guides our sourcing, with ingredients drawn from within 100 kilometres of Manly, championing the local producers who share our values and our coastline.

The certification spans our operations across energy, water, waste, community engagement, and guest experience. We are proud to support Surfrider Foundation Australia — a not-for-profit dedicated to protecting the oceans, coastlines, and marine life that define this place. Donations to Surfrider fund beach clean-ups, habitat protection, and advocacy programs that directly safeguard Manly Beach and its surrounding waters.
