Fika is the Swedish practice of stopping – properly stopping – for coffee and something to eat. Since 2013, this Market Lane café has been the most committed advocate for that idea in Manly. The space is light and Scandinavian in feel: untreated wood, canary yellow accents, and the smell of bread baked the same morning.
Everything on the menu is made in house. The open sandwiches – skagen, gravlax, cured salmon – are the reason most regulars return. The Swedish hot chocolate is the reason they stay longer than planned.
Market Lane runs parallel to the Corso. About six minutes on foot from Elysium Manly.
