Christmas by the ocean has its own pace. Mornings are bright, afternoons are long, and when the light begins to soften, the evening finds its festive mood. This December, we’ve set aside a few quiet details to make your Christmas in Manly one you’ll carry with you.
A Tree in Full Bloom
Step into the lobby and the season has already begun. Our Christmas tree, styled by our brand partner Grandiflora, stands at the heart of the hotel, dressed in live florals and fresh seasonal greenery.[Add specifics from the link: flowers and foliage used, colour palette, the install process, how many days it took, any local or Australian-grown elements.] Fresh, fragrant and framed by the ocean beyond, it’s the first of the small details that make Christmas at Elysium feel lived in rather than looked at.
Christmas Carols at Golden Hour
As the light softens, the evening finds its festive mood. Soft contemporary carols drift across the terrace above the ocean, with a glass poured for you. There’s no program, just a daily ritual to drift down to, and the hour becomes the marker of your stay. The celebration continues at Manly Oval, where the Christmas Choral Concert brings the Northern Beaches Orchestra, the Community Christmas Choir and local artists together for an evening of much-loved favourites.

Champagne Beneath the Tree
Pause beneath the Grandiflora tree and let the season begin with a glass in hand. Held in the lobby on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, from 5pm to 7pm, it’s Christmas at its most inviting, a moment to arrive, linger and raise a toast, with the ocean glowing beyond.
Christmas Day, at the Table
On Christmas Day, lunch is the occasion, and the choice is yours. Enjoy the finest Australian seafood at the water’s edge at Bistro Manly, or settle in for an Italian sharing menu at Cibaria, with the waterfront beyond. Whichever table you choose, the day is made to be savoured.
